DENUNCIAS ========= A denuncia is a police report, and if you are the unfortunate victim of a burglary, mugging or criminal incident, you will need to attend your local Guardia Civil to make such a report. I have set out below an example of the usual format of a denuncia with English explanations: (available for download as denuncia.jpg - click the link on Sara's title page. If it is possible, you will find it so much easier to complete a draft of this form prior to attending the station. All details should be in Spanish, including any items that have been stolen. In addition, you may find it useful to include a Euro price for approximate value against each item, as this will be required by the insurance company if you are making a claim. If you subsequently realise further items have been stolen which are not listed on the police report, it is likely your insurance company will not include them in your claim. If you wish, you can return to the station and ask them to prepare a supplementary denuncia adding these items to the report. Do remember that Guardia Civil Stations close over lunch, usually between 14.00 and 17.00 hrs and are also closed Saturday afternoons and Sundays. In the event that the station is closed, and reporting of the incident cannot wait until it re-opens, you should contact the National Police who will usually deal with the matter and pass details on to the Guardia Civil.
